Concertina Sketchbooks
One of the things I love about New Zealand are the seasonal changes that happen throughout the year. Spring seemed to flash past in a blur towards Christmas and before I realised it was end of the year! but while walking my dog, I was captivated by the spring blossom that filled the trees.
Old fruit trees bending to the wind over the years have beautiful shapes and curves, the contrast of the fresh blossom against the blue skies are simply stunning. I have photographed, sketched and now made use of a concertina form of book for developing an extended sketch book. I find this allows me to keep going, adding collage and walking the journey with ideas forming as I go. It can be as many pages as you might choose to add.
Photos of my processes, which will lead to a series of works on trees in 2025.
I am running some art sessions/ workshops beginning this coming Feb. Join in the fun and check the session times here
