11th Hibiscus and Bays Art Awards

I am so happy that one of my wire bird assemblages has been accepted into the 11th Hibiscus and Bays Art Awards. April 2025 Estuary Arts Centre Orewa.

Title- Munnin, Odin’s raven. Bringing news and wisdom. This character is extremely crafty and very loyal and good at remembering things.
Odin had two ravens, Huginn and Muninn, thought and memory.
Muninn is a free standing sculptural artwork.
Dimensions are length 32 cm x width 20 cm x height 25 cm.
Made from an old pair of scissors, drawing compass, inner tube, fabric, chicken wire, jewellery and a broken umbrella for wings. Held together with wire and mounted on a piece of driftwood.
Repurpose, re-invent, re-love.
